Welcome to our COVID-19 response page. Below you’ll find all the critical information about how P.S./I.S. 78Q is changing the way we operate to reduce the risk of COVID infection.

We are doing everything we can to make sure staff, students, and families are safe.

In-person Schedule

Let parents and families know:

  • When their student is expected to be physically present. Indicate if it will be by:
    • Grade?
    • Teacher’s classroom?
    • Classroom numbers?
    • Floor?
    • Subject?
    • Other?
  • At what times school starts and ends
  • Protocols for dropoff and pickup
  • When meals will be provided

Online Schedule

Let parents and families know:

  • When their child will be learning online. Indicate how this may occur by:
    • Grade?
    • Teacher’s classroom?
    • Classroom numbers?
    • Floor?
    • Subject?
    • Other?
  • At what times are students expected to be online?
    • For how long?
  • What type of learning experience can students and families expect?
    • Share what time live instruction will take place (synchronous)
    • Share what they can expect for pre-recorded sessions (asynchronous)?

  • When are teacher office hours?

Special Situations

Let everyone in the school community know what your school is doing about:

  • Opt out of in-person schooling by August 7, 2020

Safety Precautions Taken

Be sure to explain to students, families, and staff how your school is making the physical building a safe place for learning. You may want to include:
