New Playground Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
On Friday, September 18, 2015 the Department of Education and School Construction held a ribbon cutting ceremony for the opening of the new playground in front of the P.S./I.S. 78Q Early Childhood Center building. The playground will be open to P.S./I.S. 78Q grades Pre-K-1st grade students during school hours. None of this would have been possible without the creativity, enthusiasm and determination of many – “A great public school got even greater today because we now have a playground for our children!” said Mr. Louis Pavone, Principal.
Invited guests included: New York State Assemblywoman Catherine Nolan, New York State Senator Michael Gianaris, New York City Council Majority Leader Jimmy Van Bramer, Superintendent Dr. Philip A. Composto, Lorraine Grillo President /CEO School Construction Authority, CEC 30 members, PTA and Student Council.
The playground opening marks an exciting time for our school community, children and all the hard work that went into making it a reality.
