Homework 02/27/17

Welcome back, amazing students!

Your homework for tonight is as follows. Read carefully, as this contains very important directions.

601/602:

  1. Begin revising your essay. When you submit the final draft of your essay on Thursday, 03/02/17, you need to have the following:
    1. Final typed draft (in same format as the rough draft).
    2. A sheet listing all the changes (revisions) you made in your final draft. You may list these in bullet form. Be specific, and refer to examples throughout your paper (example: “In my conclusion, I added more details about how the elements and theme I’ve chosen connect to the myth, etc.”)
    3. Your original rough draft with my (and your peers’) feedback on it.
    4. Your original essay graphic organizer (which you filled out in class before drafting the essay).
    5. The Essay Writing Checklist I handed out before you submitted the rough drafts.
    6. The Prometheus Essay Guiding Worksheet you might have received. If you received one of these, you must complete it fully. Then, you will type up all your sentences in order, organize them by paragraph, and make this your new final draft.
    7. IF YOU DO NOT HAVE ALL OF THESE THINGS ON THURSDAY, I WILL NOT ACCEPT YOUR ESSAY AND YOU WILL LOSE -2 POINTS FOR LATENESS, AND AN ADDITIONAL -4 IF YOU ARE HERE AND FORGET TO SUBMIT IT ON FRIDAY.
  2. Get a parent/guardian to sign off on your Communication sheet for your Prometheus rough draft.
  3. Bring your RED FOLDERS tomorrow, complete with your essay rough draft and your signed Communication Sheet.
  4. Complete the following writing prompt on separate loose leaf paper for the Writing Celebration tomorrow (type this if you can): “For your birthday, you receive a blank notebook. Once every 20 years, you can write anything in the notebook once and it will come true. What would you write? And what if there was a catch to writing in the notebook… what would it be? What would you have to pay in order to have the written entry come true (besides waiting 20 years for an additional opportunity)?” Write at least 3 paragraphs of 5-6 sentences each. Bonus points if you draw similarities between your story and The Lightning Thief or any of the Greek myths we’ve read about.

You plan accordingly.” Write at least 3 paragraphs of 5-6 sentences each.
