ELA Homework 12/04/19

Happy Wednesday, amazing students!

Your ELA homework for tonight is as follows:

601/602: Read and annotate chapter 9 of The Lightning Thief.

603: Make sure you’ve read and annotated chapter 8 of The Lightning Thief, and have completed the chart we began in class. Tomorrow, you will have a quiz in which you compare chapter 8 of The Lightning Thief with The Hero’s Journey. Also make sure you’ve completed the chart we began in class. Also, please bring in your independent reading book from September if you haven’t done so already! (See below for quotes from The Lightning Thief).

  • The Lightning Thief quotes:
    1. “I have dyslexia and attention deficit disorder and I had never made above a C- in my life.”
    2. With a yelp, I dodged and felt talons slash the air next to my ear. I snatched the ballpoint pen out of the air, but when it hit my hand, it wasn’t a pen anymore. It was a sword–Mr. Brunner’s bronze sword, which he always used on tournament day.”
    3. “I remember Mr. Brunner’s serious expression, his thousand-year-old-eyes. I will accept only the best from you, Percy Jackson.”
    4. “Grover blushed right down to his Adam’s apple. ‘Look, Percy I kind of have to protect you.’”
    5. “His neck was a mass of muscle and fur leading up to his enormous head, which had a snout as long as my arm, snotty nostrils with a gleaming brass ring, cruel black eyes and
      horns …”

That’s all there is. Enjoy your evening!
