World Cultures Social Studies Project (China)

We all belong to a culture. Culture is a word for people’s ‘way of life’, meaning the way groups do things. Different groups of people may have different cultures.  We usually express our culture in certain ways, like how we dress, what we eat, what we believe, and how we play.

You will choose a country to research and write about their culture.   You will present your findings in one of the following ways:

  • Power Point
  • Poster
  • Informational Book
  • A – Z Book
  • Flip Book
  • Travel Brochure

In your project, you must include a map of the country and a picture of their flag.  Explain what the different parts of the flag represent.

You must also include geography as your first chapter and a minimum of four additional “chapters” based on the following aspects of culture:

  • Geography (Where is China located?  What is its population and area size of the land?  What kind of physical features does this country have?
  • Food
  • Clothing
  • Religion
  • Homes
  • Work
  • Schools
  • Languages
  • Holidays/Festivals
  • Government
  • Key events and people in history
  • Art/Music
  • Natural Resources
